Our guests over the years have found the following way to visit Bandelier National Monument and the surrounding area:
Take a guided tour at Puye Cliff Dwellings. This sets a nice stage to see the area.
If you have time, on your way to Bandelier is the Tsankawi Trail. It is a 1.5 miles hike at the top of the mesa. If you have time, this is a great optional hike.
Drive to White Rock and follow the signs to White Rock Overlook for a great view of Rio Grande.
As you drive out from the park, turn left towards on Highway 4. It is 16 miles to the Valles Caldera. This is a wonderful place to visit.
Any questions, please call, text or email us.
IDEAS FOR OTHER DAYS
Of course, the best way to start visiting Santa Fe is to start with a self-guided-tour of the historic plaza area. On another day, you could visit the Museum Hill, or take a day trip to Bandelier National Monument, take the High Road to Taos on another day, visit O’Keeffe Country and Ghost Ranch, or take a drive to Turquoise Trail and Madrid.
